HOT L BALTIMORE
by Lanford Wilson
directed by Joe Mantello

"Played by the young actress Mandy Siegfried with the happy unselfish-consciousness of a colt that has just found it's legs,...the Girl seems to make everyone smile, even those who feel honor bound to despise her.

Clad in hot pants and platform shoes that bring to mind Jodie Foster in "Taxi Driver", Ms. Siegfried emphasizes the raw overwhelming vitality and unthinking appetite found in teenagers. This sharp-witted actress finds her character's soul in her legs, which seem to have restlessly flexible lives of their own."

               --Ben Brantley, NY Times

"Mandy Siegfried, known simply as the 'girl,' is winsomely naturalistic. Siegfried's performance was, for me, the ticket into the play, just as her character is its irrepressible soul."

            --Ralph Hammann, The Advocate
